I wanted to write a quick post about dressing the part. I just got back from a all morning 
shopping trip with my wife to find some interview clothes. She has an interview this Thursday for a daycare/preschool administration job. We got to talking about marketing ourselves and in particular our appearance. That got me thinking about the church and how much our “style” effects the people that attend.
Personally, I believe that if we dress like we have confidence, then we’ll have more confidence. I think the same is true albeit in a slightly different fashion. If your church is a “dress-up for God” church, then that communicates something about your culture to guests. You might want to consider that if your church is located in a culture or area where most people either a.) can’t afford to dress up or b.) they just don’t. First impressions are everything and that’s why it’s important to dress the part.
After a meeting I had yesterday, I’m EXCITED to say that I’m in the middle of retooling/relaunching a ministry of our youth group to be more outreach focused. Actually, it will basically become the outreach service of our church. As of right now, the details are far and few between, but I have a basic layout set up.
4 times a year: We’ll have a Gospel centered full-fledge outreach service (food, familiar music, games, and a Gospel centered message)
